Is the 2310 about the right amp for cm 7 series of speakers or do they need something more upmarket ? Mixture of movie and stereo ;istening about 50/50

The 2310 will be 'adequate', but it's not going to do the CM's justice. I'd be looking more towards the 3310 or ideally the 4310 from Denon, Yamaha's DSPZ7, Pioneer's SCLX72 or SCLX82, or Onkyo's TXNR3007. Many people make the mistake of reading an AV amp's spec, seeing the inflated power rating and assuming it's good enough for up market loudspeakers. It's not down to the power rating, more down to the current an AV amp can provide. This is compromised on a budget amplifier as a manufacturer has to make sure it has the right features on it for it to sell at it's price point.

What about say an av amp from NAD.They tend to have high current though not much has been written about NAD amps on here for quite along time.Have NAD lost the plot or are new models ready for release ?

NAD have never usually been up with the best regarding features. You'd be looking at the T175, which doesn't have any HD audio decoding. This may not bother some, but personally I prefer to decode in the amp rather than the Bluray player.

I have a Pio SC-LX72 with CM7's for left and right. I also have the CM Centre and use MT-1 for the rears. Sounds awsome!!!!!!
