As the title suggests, we are back to listening to TV speakers for a while - not cool.

I would like to find a good replacement for the amp but am unsure what.

We really made use of the 2nd zone feature and as I was considering Sonos, it would be great to have an amp that worked with Spotify and a NAS to save me shelling out for Sonos at all! We listen to 6 music an awful lot too so a built in DAB would be highly useful.

Are there any other amps that fall into this catergory than the Pioneer VSX-LX55? This is a bit too expensive really, keeping under 500 would be ideal. Happy to grab a model from last year as we don't need 3D functionality.

Having an iOS app would be brilliant too, especially for the online functionality.

I have seen refurbed 2310's for about 300 quid online, maybe that is the obvious solution?

Speakers are in my sig 🙂

I bought a refurb from eBay, which in hindsight was possibly an error. Good point though, I could try and ask the guy!

No luck with the dealer, said to go direct to Denon, which would cost a fortune so I'm back to searching for a new model.

Seems like I have a few options but none really within 500 and that meet the criteria (although does air-play mean immediate Spotify access, and do any of these handle it through a nice interface?)

So, in summary - ideally matches my speakers (probably have QAcoustics all round once we move house), AE's for stereo which it would also need to do.

2 zones, DAB and music streaming along with Spotify too. Wow, we do demand a lot of these things!

Is there a comparison coming up in WHF soon or did I miss it?

Any suggestions? They all seem such different price points, seems lke the Sony might work although we do listen to a LOT of music so stereo is really important.

Guess that is the best way, pointless me posting really 🙂

The video chip and main processor are shot apparently, according to the local electronics place, good guy

New plan, looks like we are moving house and in need of smaller speakers... Looking at the reviews I'm going to audition the Q Acoustics Q7000 setup but I do not know what amps to listen to also.

Are the Yamaha RX-A1010 (or 810) and the Pioneer VSX2021 overkill?
