maxflinn:FrankHarveyHiFi:I haven't tried them directly, but the SR7005 would probably more than likely be equivalent to a PM8003. A 2 channel demo of the two will give you a better idea of which route would suit you best.really david? i didnt think any avr was that good with stereo music, the sr7005 must be very good.
AV receivers are getting better. I think in a lot of situations people will try an AV receiver and hi-fi amp together and go fir the AV receiver if it's close enough. Most people want a simple system, and not have to faff about with numerous in order to preserve the 2 channel, performance, especially as many people are listening to music less and less. I personally want my music to sound as hood as possible, even if I didn't listen to it much, so would rather have a separate system purely for music as long as space permits.
I'm not saying the SR7005 will definitely sound as good as a PM8003, it's just a guess, but if it's in that ball park, most people would be more than happy with it's musical performance.
