Which set should i get out of the following....can get them both for the same price so theres no need to consider that!!

In that case if I had to choose between the 2 products you have listed I personally would take the Plasma option. Or if it is LG you are looking at this http://uk.lge.com/products/model/detail/plasmatv_50pg7000.jhtml which is the 1080p panel

Is it worth sacrificing the full HD and go for the plasma simply bcause of the better review??? The LCD's review isn't as favourable but is thye hull HD the right choice??

will there be a massive difference between the 2 on PS3??

There is one surprise on the inside: it's a 1366 x 768 resolution HD Ready panel. It is, however, capable of displaying 1080p/24fps HD content.

Lg are being a bit naughty here with there choice of words. What the actually mean is that the 50PG6000 is capible of accepting a native 1080p24fps signal then the TV will downscale this image to fit the pannels resolution.

Given the original TV's I would go for the Plasma over the LCD but if you can strech to the FULL HD plasma then your PS3 especially when playing a 1080p 24fps will look better and smother.
