I was looking at purchasing the above cable after reading the rave reviews in What Hifi. When I went to Clearer Audio's website they had different options available for the Wattgate connectors. I was going to use the cable on my Panasonic TX-P42G10B television. Would I notice any difference if I opted for the standard £35.00 cable, or should I spend the extra £25.00 for the Wattgate one? I am also using a Tacima CS929 block / conditioner, so is the power cable worth buying at all?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

With the money-back guarantee, you could always order both types, try them in your set-up and return what doesn't work for you.

Give Darren a ring at Clearer Audio. He's a very helpful man. He'll advise you on what cable would be most suitable. I've had a similar conversation. He wont just try and sell you the most expensive one.

Hello

I believe the TX-P42G10B has a recessed inlet and the IEC connector has clips which secure it into place (I cannot check for certain since the manual on the Panasonic website is not available). If so, the Wattgate 320i IEC will certainly not fit. However the Standard IEC should fit although we have had customers report that it does not. Another option is to attach a Male IEC Adaptor to the existing cable 3-4 inches from the IEC inlet and then plug the power cable into this (please bear in mind that if the display is still within warranty this solution can invalidate it). You can try the power cable with Standard IEC and if it does not fit you can return for a refund.

The Copper-line Alpha Power Cable will certainly be beneficial with your CS929. The CS929 filters the mains supply of noise; unshielded power cables can pick up airborne noise after this filtration thereby undoing the good work done. Therefore a high performance shielded power cable is very worthwhile.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Darren
