ChordOhmic plugs don't fit in my amp

Am I going crazy? Bought some chord rumour x cables with pre-wired ohmic plugs. I can't get them into my amp or speakers

Should I just use force & not worry? That seems like the kind of tactic where I break expensive things...

Have you used banana plugs in that amp before? When new, they should have little red and black blanking plugs in, to stop kiddies prying.

You can prise them out with a compass point or narrow pliers, tweezers etc. Try unscrewing the brassy barrels first to see if you can find them.

Yeah existing cable had banana plugs. These guys fitted no problem

I have similar plugs from a different brand and they also needed a bit of force. Must just be this style I think.

Ah, I see they are the multi-contact type. The side-spring ones are stiffer as mentioned.

Ok, will persevere with 60% force. Not 90% . That would be overkill

Unscrewing the brass barrels a bit might help the plugs fit easier.

They look like better quality than your new ones. Maybe a little DIY job? Otherwise then probably just need a pit more force to push them in.

With the plugs out, just make sure the spring does actually push into the pin body - you'll find that it takes some doing.

Then it's a case of push harder into the terminals - because they will go.

Some might need unscrewing as some are designed with a clamping mechanism.
Question:- have you tried any other type of banana plug?
