Chord Speaker Cable Plugs...?

I've just been playing with my new chord carnival silverscreen cable.

I'm a bit perplexd by the banana plugs. They have a bit on them which seems to be intended to go in, to give the connections extra purchase, is that right? I've never seen such a thing, but then im hardly a veteran of this stuff!

Yes, that's the spring. It's the reason why banana plugs are called banana plugs, apparently.

From experience the Chord springs do give a tight, positive fit.

Thanks andrew. had to give up earlier as other things took over, but ill try get the blighters in again soon. one was being stubborn when i left it.

sure theyll make a good conection when i get 'em in tho.
