System: Pro-Ject 1 Xpression III, Pro-Ject Phono Box II USB, Denon M37-DAB (until I can afford a 'grown-up' amp & CD player), Tannoy Mercury F1 Custom speakers. All mains plugs/adapters go into a Tacima CS929
I was using the freebie interconnect that came with the turntable between it and the phono amp and an Atlas Equator Mk II between the phono amp and Denon, decided to 'upgrade' both to Chord Crimson (and use the Atlas from my AV amps pre-outs to the Denon) so bought a couple of pairs. Problem is I get a prominent mains hum when using the Chords between the turntable and phono amp, this was non-existent using the freebie. Turntable is earthed to the phono amp and have tried earthing it to the Denon too but this makes no difference, 'wiggling' the cable changes the amount of hum and touching the plug outer casing reduces/removes it. Any suggestions on how to resolve it completely?
TIA
Simon
