I have previously used cobra and chameleon interconnects but as a result of and amp change i needed some different interconnects with DIN connection to my naim xs, i was going to use chameleon silver plus leads but chord don't advise the use of that cable with naim equiptment so i decided to give the new CobraPlus a spin and ordered 3 one meter lengths with RCA->DIN terminations @ £61.48 each, i think chord are on to a winner with this cable.

An Absolute delight to listen to...

This has been one of my favourite cables for the last few years - thankfully Chord decided to continue with the Crimson / Cobra / Chameleon models and upgrade them to "Plus" spec rather than change them completely.

hello thestig08

ive just recently bought a pre/power naim amp combo and was looking at buying the cobra leads with din at one end when i phoned chord about getting my csp cable upgraded they also told me that that cable doesnt work as well in the din format and recommened the cobra cable and quoted me £100 so searching the web the best price i could find was £97 at £61.48 seems a bargain please could tell me where you purchased these from as im really keen on purchasing a cuople of pairs.

Hi 80s boy

I hope you will not mind me also replying.

May i suggest you also contact these guys RF Potts (who are based in Derby). Many of the cables i use between components (including Naim) are from them. RF Potts can pretty much make most configurations of cables and the best of all the prices are very reasonable (£15 is the most i've paid for a 10m Professional XLR > phono cable).

Btw, how are you finding your NAC 152 XS/NAP 155 XS?

All the best

Thanks Rick

i will check out there website.

the new NAC 152 XS/NAP 155 XS are so much better than the roksan k2(although the kandy k2 is still a fantastic amp) i know it's only been a week but to me it's so much more hifi sounding? the detail is amazing so much more organised aswell, the amps have really got the atc scm 11s singing WOW

btw

talking about cables whats your opinion on din to phono cables is it worth changing my cables as i read a review that its only worth changing if its din to din to really notice an improvement?

Hi 80s boy

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, using phono > din is still likely to give superior performance over rca > rca and you don't need to spend too much. As i said earlier i am happily using cables which cost very little money from RF Potts. I don't really even think about others too much as these are superb.

hi 80s boy

I got my cables from http://www.hifigear.co.uk/chord-cobra-plus.html best price i managed to find by far, hence the reason why i bought 3. Superb service aswell, i highly recommend them.

Be sure to let us know what you think of the sound - this is still one of our favourite cables in store and has probably been on dem non stop in different systems for the past three years, in its different iterations!

I would say my cables are run in now and the difference is amazing, the bass has tightened up and is punchy and taught, the vocals are crystal clear with no hint of brightness and a delight to listen to.

I am also enjoying the superb P.R.A.T and imaging this system now offers.

Happy new year!
