Thank you all, this is super helpful. So, trying to consolidate all of your very thoughtful suggestions, I think I'll stick to single wiring and would look into perhaps a QED XT25 with Deltron BFA and banana plugs (for the the PMD end). Maybe this?

Again, thank you for sharing all your knowledge with this n00b
This is the wisest way to go. I just keep my system very simple, incl bare wires. Used to have banana plugs but changing speaker cables years ago, not only does it save money and headache but yields better sound IMO.

Just enjoy your system.

Yes, they look like a fine choice. Obviously you need to carefully check the length you need, bearing in mind the placement of both amp and speakers, and the ‘drape’ of the cables to the floor, and possibly a bit extra to allow for rearranging a bit, or different stands.

I vaguely recall BFA stood for British Federation of Audio, or something similar. They tried to establish certain Hifi standards, and I think historically DIN was the German standard (long before the Common Market) while banana plugs may have been a US preference, I’m not sure. BFA speaker plugs were used by Linn as well as Cyrus, and kept live parts shrouded when safety/shorting concerns were all the rage. They took up less room, so worked well on less than full sized boxes.

I used to have a Cyrus 6XP and PMC DB1s and had them biwired and loved them until the Cyrus stopped working. Used BFA plugs on the amp side and some standard banana plugs on speaker end- QED silver anniversary cables i think. Lack of space made me replace it with a CA EVO 150 and Neat iota speakers- added a small REL subwoofer under desk
