Not sure about "wouldn't" change, but given my budget for the forseeable future, I'm happy with my source and speakers. The amp is very good too, but I'd like to have it upgraded by introducing some new capacitors and possibly adding a power amp to the 3020A's pre-out section.

Other than that, I pretty much stumbled on this combination and the synergy between the three is surprisingly effective. Very musical, nice and full with good insight thanks to the Marantz but the body the NAD adds balances out what can sometimes be a lean presentation. The speakers themselves are quite neutral but portray a very impressive image.

It's all a matter of £££s right?

I am very happy with the setup today and really don't want to change anything. But if someone gave me a few £K i could think of a few upgrades :)

The only reason why I posed the question is because, as most of you know, the OH has been pestering me to downgrade - yet I'm sticking to my integrity. I could quite easily replace the amp, CDP, turntable and even the speakers. One thing I wouldn't part with is the retro tuner.

When WHFI first reviewed the new Cyrus CD6SE, they commented on the reference system: "CD6SE was not the weakest link."

I've tested a few amps over the past two years, Naim, Roksan, Cyrus 8VS2 and my tuner just excels, outgunning Arcam 73T. When it eventually dies I won't replace it. It would be too expensive to buy a tuner that will significantly out perform my Marantz.

plastic penguin:One thing I wouldn't part with is the retro tuner.

I came very close to "Doing a joel" a couple of times on ebay this week.

Once was on this Denon TU-332 FM tuner from 1977 in near mint/boxed condition for £75. Backlit tuning scale and signal strength meter.

Sense prevailed. I don't need it.

Just keep loyal to the kit you have. I've tested a number of hybrid tuners recently (including WHFI award winners) and Arcam DT91 and FM on my Marantz is comparable with any sub-£500 tuner I've heard

I really enjoy the whole system: synergy, detail and bass definition for the money. Love it.

If I had the money, I would certainly dem a Cyrus CD, Naim and ATC, but I certainly wouldn't entertain a new Tuner. Once it curls up its toes I will just rig the system up to tv or computer.

The thing I will probably never part with is probably what for me is the most insignificant component - my CA DAB. It does exactly what I need it to do - Planet Rock!

It just proves you don't have to spend fortunes to hear great sonics. . . .
