Can anyone help??? I have inherited a pair of Castle York speakers from my Grandad who passed away. They are from the original Castle Acoustics company and have real sentimental value for me. Only problem is that one of the mid drivers has been fried (probably by Glenn Miller) and from my research I think that castle made their own drivers. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement or the specs for the original? Any help would be massively appreciated.

The Castle brand is now owned by IAG, contact them and see if they can help.

If they are no help try Wembley loudspeakers (Google), they may be able to do a recone but this may be a custom job and not cheap. If you go this route be prepared to do both drivers to maintain a 'matched pair'.

BTW, I doubt Glenn Miller was to blame, he died in 1944.

Indeed he did but for some the music still goes on, and on.... :)

I got to hear a lot of Glenn Miller when I was a kid, mom and dads 'big thing' from the war years.

I have no problem with music from that period in general but Miller and a few of the other big bands, I can do without.

I've been listening to some Miles Davis, recorded less than 4 years after Millers death, from a different world.

Thanks for the help guys. I have spoken to Wilmslow but they haven't got a driver that will work. I'm going to see if Wembley audio can repair for me.
