Hi everyone,

I wonder if someone could offer me some advice and help me out.

My dad left me his pride and joy south coast speakers - classic speakers.....

Unfortunately one of the Seas mid range drivers a 11 f-m has a small tear around the perimeter which is obviously degrading the sound. :poke:

I understand they stopped producing this driver and they're extremely hard to come by....

Can anyone recommend an alternative driver of similar or better quality which I can replace the damaged one with (i'll obviously replace them both).

Sadly i dont have the output information for the 11 f-m's so i cant work out a suitable match myself.....

Many thanks in advance and kind regards Phil.

Sounds like the driver (foam) surround has perished, you can get kits and do it yourself, or get them done by someone like Wembley Loudspeakers.

Which models do you have? All I can find is a reference here:

And that they were possibly based in Southampton.

Here is a link to someone with a similar problem with the Seas 11F-M:

The Seas 11F-M is also called the Seas H143 or Seas MCA11FC aparently

I would say that a re-foam is all they need.

The Seas 11F series are long discontinued, and Seas no longer make any drivers in that frame size. I have the Seas 11F-GX model in my Keesonic Kolts, and its a similar mid-bass driver used in the early Proac Tablettes.

You would be best getting it re-built by someone like Wembley Loudspeakers rather than a replacement from Wilmslow or such like as it would never be like for like. Seas currently make the CA12RCY and MCA12RC which are very similar to the 11F range but with a round chassis rather than the truncatred square one, and possibly different specs.
