Silly me i went out and bought 25 meters for two lenths for the rears but there about a meter too short each. Firstly can i join them together and how is the best way

All ive done is twist the wires together and wound electrical tape round

even if you joined the cables and the system sounds good, you will always think that it could sound better had you not joined the cable
so perhaps look at taking the cables back to the seller and buy the correct length

I had to do it with my rear speaker cable as it is chased into the wall and I changed my rack and was a few inches short. It works fine but as dimspan says, I do wonderhow it would sound with a perfect run.
