Can anybody recommend an LCD/Plasma TV for me?

Hi all,

I've had my Sony 1080i LCD TV for almost 6 years now. No HDMI so am wanting to change it. Problem is, there are so many around and I'm unsure whether to stick with SONY or perhaps look at Panasonic or LG?

The speakers in my TV are pretty good so offer a decent sound when watching normal TV, which is something I want. I don't want to have to turn on an amplifier all of the time. I hear many LCD sets have poor sound these days as they are becoming thinner and thinner.

I would like 3-4 HDMI inputs and decent built in speakers, 1080p and probably 37" - 40". Obvious decent picture which makes me wonder about LED backlight or possibly a decent plasma?

Any advice appreciated.

I have a samsung le40b550 which i am very happy with both with hd pictures from sky and blu ray.In this months mag it comes out top of the test of 40-42 inch tvs as the best tv for under £1000.00.If you shop around you can get it from £530.00 really good value.
