Just went to move my bins back and noticed a lot of BT vans out side so i asked the BT Guy are fitting full fibre to my amazement he said yes, i can't wait. he said about 2 months time .
I think they've given up trying to sign me up for full fibre.....I can wait.
One thing I've noticed is that when they run the cable down your wall, once they get about half way down, it is then secured to your drainpipe.
i wouldn't accept that still waiting for them to come back then i will look at what options i have other than BT full cable.By "they" you mean the installer that did your particular installation.
Whilst it's fairly common within the industry* it's certainly not standard practice.
*Usually just lazy installers, or subbies that are paid per install looking for short cuts.
It's the same at the work premises too. Seems standard.By "they" you mean the installer that did your particular installation.

Yeah, them and Vodafone put up the infrastructure funds, Vodafone are the ones that have bombarded me with 'you don't know what you're missing' messages.CityFibre wouldn't sell you broadband anyway 😉
They're a wholesale network builder/operator.
They leave tselling to their numerous retail partners
Much speed increase?!I just spoke with EE regarding the new full fibre ,they have agreed to cancel a current contract i have with them. The contract has a full year left on it at first they said no he went and spoke with a manager who said yes has long has i take out a new fibre contract .
They are installing full fibre 2nd of March Happy days .
Over the years i had a lot of speed and connection issues with Fibre from cabinet was told i would get max 25MBPS lucky if i got 12 let alone the drop outs.So i gave up with that and have been using a 4G router that has been reliable with about 50MBPS on average.Much speed increase?!
from who what provider ?Still waiting for fibre at home after receiving a flyer through the door saying "available in your area now". Ordered it mid July last year...
That's appalling service, try a different provider?Still waiting for fibre at home after receiving a flyer through the door saying "available in your area now". Ordered it mid July last year...
70 mbps is very good for copper you must be very close to the cabinet mine is about a mile & half away.the new cables are under ground .I Saw them feeding the cables through at diffrent points.Had Gigaclear, Virgin, and BT digging up the pavements three times in as many years to lay fibre. Giga and BT both managed to sever the line to my house. I'm currently getting 70mbps down my copper cable with NOWbroadband, including landline. Can't see the point of fibre for my needs yet.
Also a headphone SNOB 🤪I'm full fibre gigabyte snob, I'm getting 1.3 gb per second from Virgin Media, actual speeds around 900mb to 1gb.
I'm hoping for a little more competition in our area, so Virgin can give me a better deal.
Let me just mention this, you don't need this much broadband to enjoy 4K streaming but the more you have, the less compression you get and this makes a big difference in quality if you view a lot of 4k television or movie watching.
I keep checking the availability from Hyperoptic, it seems they're not really keen to venture into Central Bedfordshire. That's a shame.
Yep.....so love my HE1000 V2......ha ha ha 😎Also a headphone SNOB 🤪

I've had well below 10 down a copper line for a decade, which has covered my needs.I'm currently getting 70mbps down my copper cable with NOWbroadband, including landline. Can't see the point of fibre for my needs yet.

Gigaclear 2023, Virgin 2024, BT 2025, all digging the same trenches in the pavement 🙂In what order?
Gigaclear and VM both use Openreach's PIA (Passive Infrastructure Access) offering, i.e they pay them for access to their duct and pole infrastructure where possible because it's cheaper, quicker and less disruptive than doing their own civils.
