Brennan JB7 repair and upgrade

Hi all geeks and modders!
Has anyone installed a new hard disc in JB7?
What formatting system, what files to install first?
Does it self-format?
Will Brennan supply new motherboards etc?

Anybody used say Drive Copy/delete to clone an existing working drive: apparently, it uses a proprietary format and database...

I haven't done it but, I would imagine that you will need some standard file handling software installed. You should check out the Brennan site to see if there is any tech info. Perhaps the Brennan people will tell you what to do.

I have been thinking about getting a Brennan for some time just havne't got round to it yet.

How does it perform?

I use headphones with my music a lot. Is the sound out of the Brennan good for this?

I have changed the hard drive in my Topfield Freeview recorder and had to install some simple software that is available online. Maybe Brennan or a Brennan forum group can offer the same. If not the hard disk should be easy enough to clone with good utility software.
I can't comment on Drive Copy/Delete, never used it.

I have a Linux system and would end up using Open source software which is usually tried and tested.
