Just wondering if anyone can recommend an upscaling (HDMI) DVD player for £100 or less?

I've searched the forum, and the Toshiba SD370 gets a good crit from posters, but Which? gave it a real kicking ("Pro's - None").

And does the HDMI cable make / model make a huge difference?

Not sure if it matters, but it's to go with a Panasonic 37" PX70

Thanks

As a minimum go onto Richer Sounds and look at the Pioneer DVD 600AV or DENON DVD 1740-Nothing less should come into your equation or you will be dissapointed. I previously had a Samsung DVD HD870 -Great pictures upto a 32ins Screen....over that and leave it well alone

Pioneer DV 400 .....OK.....but I would go for either the Pioneer 600AV or the Denon 1740.....Recently the Pioneer was given a rave review stating that it delivered a killer performance for the price and that included it's Sound too. It's probably one of very few occasions too where I would also be inclined to buy either of these two machines soley on spec and the reviews given about them

Someone else too in the TV Forum has the Pioneer and has already testified to it's strenghths
