Hey

This may sound a little stupid, But i have a onkyo tx-sr606 amp and am trying to connect my KEF KHT 3005se up to the amp. I am using QED Silver Anniversary XT speaker cable with QED banana plug fittings. But the plugs will not fit into the back of the amp, only to the speakers....

Can amplifiers actually take banana plug fittings? because i dont think mine can, and i may have just wasted a lot of money getting these plugs fitted lol

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Thats awesome! cheers for that. i have just tried it and the little black plugs have just popped out. Thanks for the advice.

One other thing you wouldnt happen to know if the black rubber on the end of the screw, on the KEF KHT 3005 speaker comes off? so again the banana plug can plug straight into the back of it.

Not sure on that one - can't remember. I think they do, even though the terminals are mainly designed for bare wires, but I'm sure an owner will put us both right

I had s similar problem on my Yamaha amp but on closer inspection i found that the terminals on the amp had a ring within the outer terminal that could be cut away using a sharp edge. I used a screwdriver. The plastic on the terminal is actually thinner at this ring, as if it has been stamped with a hole punch. Hope i'm making sense, difficult to explain. Once i'd cut the inner circle away the banana plug fitted no problem.
