Hi

I'm setting up this system:

- Harman Kardon 435 AVR

- 4x Wharfedale 200 Diamond 200 (Front + Satelite)

- 1x B&W Center LCR60 S3

- PV1 Subwoofer

My room is 3,5 x 5 metres with the TV / viewing sofa at seperate ends.

The questions concern the subwoofer setup:

- What frequenzy do I set the sub to (40-140 Hz)?

What Equalizer (EQ) seting (I, II or III?)

- What PHASE (+/-)?

- Do I position the sub with the drivers angled or pointing at the listening position?

The volume setting is between "12 to 3 o clock" (50-75%) and the sub is positioned in a corner.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You may be better off posting this in the Home Cinema section for more advice and opinions.

Are you using the calibration software in the amp? if so you should set the volume to 12 o'clock and the EQ to I ( I gives you the lowest extension, III gives less extension but higher output ) The cross over can be set to 140Hz. Phase should be set to "+" unless the sub is a long way from any of the other speakers.

The amp will then run through it's test sequence and determine the best cross over and volume level for the sub.

The sub was designed to be positioned with the drivers firing sideways, accross the room. I have experimented with the drivers facing you and place dthe sub at an angle across a corner with mixed results but it's something you could experimrnt with yourself.
