Ive recently been offered a free upgrade from my MS Avanio 1s to the MS Mezzo 2s - currently coupled with Cambridge Audio Azur 650 amp and CD. Only had the Avanion 1s 3 weeks and like the look and sound of them - Have never listened to the Mezzo 2s but dont really like the look of them. My question is :- Will i hear a definate improvement in sound quality if i switch?,,,, or should i stick with the Avanio 1s??? Auditioning is not an option, so its pot luck... any help please, much appreciated

dont know much about the avanio's but what i will say is the mezzo2s are great i wanted standmounts but then listened to my br5's and was blown away just the depth. but i will say trher mezzo2's are sexy great with kings of leon and on some soundstyle z2 stands were very hard to knock. They were i think £299.99 so im not sure what you have to find

sorry i need to read more for free sounds good. but have your avanio been ran in yet and try other cables first before throwing the towel in

Thanks for that , think i will take the offer of the free upgrade.... seems silly not to.

There is a big difference in sound. The Mezzo 2 is less boomy, sounds a bit sweeter, and reveals far more detail. It also has very good layering.

Just my opinion: Even if you had to pay for the difference, go for the Mezzo. 😀

Completely agree Stagea.

The Aviano 1 is, in effect, a development of the old Avant 902i. Good speaker for the money but it doesn't have the refinement, control or detail of the Mezzo 2.

Thanks Matthew. These are awesome speakers for the price.

@KevMc

Congrats with the new gear. I'm sure you'd have lots of listening time with them.
