Hi

I'm a guy from Denmark and therefore would like to continue buying Audiovectorspeakers :).

I have had - for almost 10 years - a pair of Audiovector Mi3 speakers and think it is time to either upgrade this pair (S* Super) and preferably changing the set to surround (also S* super). Or if my wife is to decide, then with a somewhat smaller budget as well as physical size. However I've liked the speakers so far!

The reason for my questiion is that I don't see so many postings, awards or reviews on Audiovector compared to e.g Monitor Audio, KEF, Velodyne etc (I - as for the moment - expect to go to the onkyo 875 if surround as prices are falling.)

I expect (and hope) that Audiovector is up to "modern standard"- what is your verdict ?

PS: I still want some good listening to music as well as a system to films.

Thanks!

Hi Davex

Your right in saying that Audiovector aren't very well know here, I
think its because they only been distributed within the UK for the last few
years.

They have had some good reviews in Hifi Choice, and if you go to the Cyrus
or Naim forums you will find loads of people there who use Audiovector
speakers.

I own a pair of Audiovector Mi1 Signatures and love them. Personally
speaking, if you like the Audiovector sound, I would stick with them.

I think that a lot of people do not know what you can actually pay to
upgrade Audiovector speakers to the next better model in the range. E.g. you
buy the basic model and instead of selling your speakers and starting again,
you just pay the difference between that model and the one up, and they will change
the drive units and crossover's to a higher spec for you, keeping the original
cabinets. A bit like what Cyrus offers.

I'm not sure, but do Audiovector support older models
that are not in production, I think they do. In your situation though, you may
find that because of the cost of upgrading to a better spec, you may be better
off selling your speakers and buying a secondhand Audiovector model of a higher
spec, especially considering they have introduced the new S series to replace
the Mi series. And as Audiovector offer upgrades, you can always upgrade the Mi's
to S series spec later. You just need to work out which is more cost effective.
