Attaching Pioneer PDP-LX5090 to wall for stability

Hi folks,

Decided it's about time I followed Pioneer's recommendations for stabilising this screen (at the moment I have two heavy blocks of tiles resting on the back of the stand to hold it in place!). There are two options recommended in the manual, one is to screw the stand into your AV rack - not an option for me as it's made of glass. The second is attaching the screen to a wall using hooks and cord which are "available on the market". I've just been to Robert Dyas and can't really find anything which matches up so thought I'd post and see if anyone else has done this and what they used?

I could bodge it with a couple of hooks and some wire of some kind, but considering the investment in the TV, I feel I really ought to try and do this properly!

Thanks for any advice.

I think it's usually only required if you are prone to small children or earthquake.

In Japan, products like this - and wardrobes and so on - have to be fitted with earthquake chains, fixed to the wall, so they don't topple onto you in the event of a quake.

Although of course if the wall falls too, they won't help much.

Mmm, I did wonder if it was strictly necessary, but after thinking about it more and more, paranoia begun to creep in as I thought "but what if someone did bang into it and it fell off"...

In the end, I think I'm doing this just so I can sleep at night!
