Just reaching out to get some guidance on a pair of bookshelf speakers to pair with a pioneer SX535. Been looking at monitor audio BR/BX and Q3020i. Any recommendations on pairing would be appreciated?

I could advise quite a few but not knowing your budget or anything else you really must audition some for yourself.
Just buying second-hand stuff on someone else's say so is a quick way to disappointment.
However, with only 20wpc , you better be sure they are pretty efficient.

Ok thanks for that. Budget would be below €500, any guidance on efficient bookshelf speakers at that price point?

I am close to the UK and happy to buy from there, for an equivalent up to £450 is there anything you might consider?

Probably the Wharfedale Diamond 12.2?
How big is your room (width and length) as floorstanding speakers tend to be more efficient and bookshelf speakers require stands.
If floorstanders ok look at Wharfedale Diamond 12.3 or Mission LX5.
You really need to find a dealer and audition yourself to save disappointment

Thanks for all the advice above. A pair of b&w dm303 have come available. Any thoughts on these to pair with SX 535 receiver amp? Room is 12metres sq, mostly playing vinyl and listening to radio on tuner amp.

Hard to say. Assuming I'm looking at the correct version, then they were launched in 2006, so are nearly two decades old. Can you return them if they don't work to your taste? Most pairs on Ebay are over £100 so somebody must still like them.

I'd be more disposed towards the brand new Wharfedales mentioned above, but I'm not the one listening!
