Arcam CD192 Hooked Up To Separate DAC and DIP

I have recently connected my Arcam CD192 to an Audio Alchemy DAC and Monarchy Audio digital interface processor (DIP). Both are about 10 years old. The music now has better clarity and the soundstage is both wider and deeper. How can this be? My Arcam CDP has an upsampling multiDAC module (whatever that is) and latest technology. The DAC & DIP should not make any difference. Can anyone explain why there is an improvement?

I'm very suprised! The CD192 has a superb DAC - by far the best in its class! Must be a very special external DAC you have there!
