Arcam alpha 8 binding posts

Bought this amp form ebay and received it today however one binging post has come off.

Is it possible to get a new one and how the replacing is done? Already contacted with seller and told about problem. That's the second try to buy amp from ebay and I really don't want to go for another try but it depends on how serious this damage is...

do you need it? What are your speakers? Are they bi-wireable?

I haven't got speakers yet. I either get Wharfedale 9.1s or Tannoy F1s. Secondhand scared me off for time being. Wharfedales are biwireable I think.

It's fine TBH.

You wont need to bi-wire the Tannoys so just use the top set of binding posts (SP1).

If you do decide to bi-wire then unfortunately you will need to get it fixed.

If the Alpha 8 is similar to the earlier alpha models then it all depends on if you are going to use headphones. The top terminals (SP1) are direct so the speakers are on all the time & don't mute. The SP2 terminals are switched & mute when headphones are plugged in.Hope this helps.

I take that its is possible to get it fixed. Ill wait for the answer from seller and then decide what to do. Basically its sellers responsibility that item is received as described and hopefully I get solution from there.
