Anyone tried CA 650A with KEF iQ5SE speakers?

I'm wondering if I'm mad for thinking of this combination as both are often described as bright. Anyone tried them? My source would be an Arcam CD73 although I could bypass the Arcam's DAC and use my Dacmagic as the DAC (latest version).

A is the amp, C is the CD player.

I must say I found them both unpleasantly bright, and they've been replaced by NAD.

I never found the CA 640A v2 (old) and the KEF IQ5se bright or unpleasant, they gelled well, infact - KEF is not a bright speaker, IMO.
