Hello guys.I recently purchased the B & W 685 + 61 Htm s2 B & W 610 coupled to a receiver mrx 310 and Anthem Arcam RDAC I am very happy with the sound. Now I have a bit 'of money saved and I would like to buy a power integrated or final stereo listening. the budget is 800 € a little more and a little 'less I prefer the sound is kind of brilliant and detailed listening primarily of rock and country rock the ones that come to mind are: Nad 356bee or Nad 355BEE Rotel Ra 12 or Rotel RB 1552 mkII Denon 1510AE Recommended or other models? Thanks for answears happy New Year

Hi Criant.

Welcome to the forum.

I use a TEAC AI 501da as an amp for my 685s2 and it sounds IMHO really good and detailled. If you want more power, TEAC has also an analog amp in the Ref-serie with a little bit more power.

In my search for an amp I've heard Rotel, NAD, Peachtree, Audio Analogue, TEAC, Rega Brio and Arcam. To my ears Rotel and Arcam sounded not bad but not enough detail and expression. Audio Analogue is a great amp. Peachtree was a little over budget. NAD and Rega is also a good combo with the 685. TEAC was the best to my ears.

The best option: take your own 685 to the dealer for a demo and listen for yourself.

Good luck!

The Teac AI 501da also has DAC built-in, did you use it as a DAC + Amp or just Amp only. Thank you

Maybe you can find a second hand Emotiva amp for well under 800 Euros, which you can connect via the pre-outs of the Anthem. Plenty of power for the rest of your life.

I used a Naim UnitiLite (amplifier part similar to Nait 5i-2) in combination with the 685s2 and found this combination very good . So if you can try the Naim Nait 5i-2 or 5si, i would certainly do it.

Both. To me it's powerfull enough for low to medium levels. TEAC has also an analogue amp, the AX-501.

http://audio.teac.com/product/ax-501/

I read that you already compared it with Arcam A19 but it is just an amplifier. How did you compared it Teac (DAC+amp) with Arcam A19(amp) or Teac (amp only) with Arcam A19 (amp) because when going through the DAC, it has a lot of differents

I also own B&W 685 S2 with Pioneer A20 but the sound is not good, so I also want to buy a new amp

I auditioned the TEAC as amp with the Arcam a19 and the Rega Brio at one shop. The good working DAC was a bonus.......

The differences are not that great. The huge differences are made by the source and cables.
