I have a panasonic set top box DMRXS350 (5Star rating earlier this year), am on verge of getting Sony BDP-S570 bly-ray player (cuurently 5 Star), and later in the year will move towards a 40"/46" TV. Panasonic recommended TX-P42S20B,a NEO-PDP TV with integrated Freesat tuner. My budget for the TV would be £500/800 and would like to connect to my PC.Any advice welcome. Forum user Tonypen

the pana 42g20 is a better tv than the s20, id say you should be able to get one for under £800, perhaps not right now, but in a few months when you're ready to buy then they should be around the £800 mark, you're probably better off demoing both to see if the extra outlay (perhaps £150ish) is worth it to you. in my opinion it would be..

I have the 50S20B, it's a great TV, but the "G" will be a worthy upgrade, if you take in account the following:

  • The "S" series does not have Freesat HD only Freeview HD.
  • It's screen absorbs a lot of ambient light, so although the blacks are nice and deep at night (which is 90% of my viewing) if it is opposite a window or in a bright room, you are best going with the "G" has it has a better anti-reflecting panel
  • There is no THX mode on the "S" so it you are not comfortable calibrating the screen yourself, then this preset on the "G" will be useful.

I bought the "S" because i got it cheap and i'm using it as a stop gap until the higher range VT20 / V20 get a few hours under their belt and deal with some of their numerious issues(and 3D matures). And it's a great TV for the price.
