do you think they'd let me have the blu ray player with the sony kdl-55w805a tv? that tv doesnt come with the blu ray and is £899 but i'll ask if they can transfer the deal to that tv for me?

Some shops will haggle, but some won't, worth a try though.

I've had both passive & active TVs & from my experience active is the much better viewing experience. also bigger screen size isnt always better, i would choose PQ over screen size .I bought the Sony W805A before my W9 and i returned the W8 as DSE was awful. I dont no much on the Panasonic but from my experience the W9 is a keeper. And if a bigger screen is what you really need i would look at the SONY - 50W829

http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/sony/bravia-kdl50w829b/sony-kdl50w829bbu

what is DSE?

the w829 has a 5 star rating so i imagine its as good as the last years w905a. plus its same price for an extra 4 inches and 100% chance of a blu ray player and its still active 3d. think i wont bother demoing the w905a

I would certainly demo the TVs and choose the one you like best. as for last years W9 this was Sony flagship 1080p. This years W829 is the replacement set to last years W805A. And as Big Boss say's it's a dirty screen effect which show's on the screen by panning shots etc. Most LED TVs have DSE to some effect

if i get the w805a or the w829 either way i'll still have a very good picture quality yeah? i'll have 4 tv's to demo now then!

which blu ray should i use to test these 4 tv's? i want one that can really shine with a good tv picture quality. lots of people say they use pacific rim as 2d and 3d test material (and audio test) should i use this! i have it on blu ray 3d already.

or should i take something else such as man of steel, elysium, the wolverine or resident evil etc? i have lots of blu rays :p

then again i'll be testing active vs passive 3d too so i might aswel just take all 3d blu rays.

resident evil afterlife, pacific rim, man of steel and gi joe retaliation 3d and iron man 3 i have in my 3d collection so far.

that's no good shopping there. they only include the sound bar deal which i'd have to sell and not get a lot for it. i'd rather go RS and get the £200 BDPS-6200 blu ray player

You have to submit a price match form, they do sell the 5200 one, and can price match that one. You just have to explain what you want price matched.

They have the 6200 one too:

http://www.johnlewis.com/search/sony-blu-ray-player?_requestid=6401372

Here is where you price match and put in your request:

https://www.johnlewis.com/never-knowingly-undersold

Say the TV and which website, and copy and paste it. Then put in you want the Blu-Ray player too, you should get a response within 24 hours.

They then give you up to 28 days to decide if you want to purchase it or not.
