I just wanted to confirm what steve said, the naim is certainly able, you just need to like the distinct sound it produces.

My dac is probably an excellent performer in its price class but is probably still holding the naim back. I really need to test another dac after I get the teddy.

As a first update I can say I'm keeping the Naim. After going bi-wired again and leaving the Naim on for longer periods have tipped the balance. I am first arranging my source because since the detail has bettered I can hear the mistakes from the dac. The MF is really built for a lower-end system where it will shine. But I'm getting there and I am more confident now that I'm in the right direction.
