Hi,

I have the Philips 42PFL9664 lcd tv and notice it is capable of '17-bit RGB colour processing'.

When I look at the hdmi information on my avr it reads 8 bit pixel depth. Obviously my question is am I able to get near the 17 bit?

Is it dependant on the source ie sky/bluray etc and would I need a certain type of hdmi also?

Quick browse on web and I think 8 bit might be all I could get for a few years?
