Kings of Convenience - Homesick
Listened to both bands today. Struck me how similar KofC are to S&G. Not a bad thing, there's room for both.
The King of Convenience are fantastic aren't they *good*
Try listening to a track from the Whitest Boy Alive, a different style but sung by Erlend Oye one of the Kings of Convience .

Cheers Electro, I'll give that a look. I did read about Oye's solo stuff today on Tidal's resume for KofC, but didn't get time to listen. They do hit a certain spot that I reach for at times - and they collaborated with Lesley Feist a bit too, whose ballads are some of the most goose-bump inducing (in a good way) haunting melodies I've ever heard.
Although most of my playlists are genre-based, I do have a small handful of artist-centred playlists of some of my favourite artists and Feist is one of them. Just stunning IMO. When her ballads are playing I just have to stop whatever I'm doing (unless I'm driving!!) and just listen properly.
Actually when I get time I use this thread (& the album one that floats around) as a springboard for listening to new stuff. It can be a nice exercise checking out bands I may not have chosen myself. I discovered the Tower of Power's 'Back to Oakland' album today on a review of some speakers I was reading.
