Yet another Sky HD question!

Hey guys, another Sky question for you!

I'm recieving my Sky HD tomorrow, and i have an Onkyo 507 amp to plug it all in with. I understand ill have to get another HDMI cable to plumb it all in, but for the audio, what would be the benefit of SPDIF over Optical? is there much of a difference? which would be better to use...

your help on this matter us greatly appreciated 🙂

AVLee:what would be the benefit of SPDIF over Optical?Theoretically,over short runs coaxial may be better because it's a straight electrical connection.Whereas using optical means two lots of conversion, i.e from electrical to light and then from light back to electrical.

Again theorectically,over long runs optical may be better,as light isn't subject to electrical interference.is there much of a difference?In reality, no you wont notice a difference.which would be better to use...Which ever is most convenient.

thanks for you reply my friend! as the sky will be sat next to the amp, ill go for coax! hoping they aren't too expensive!
