Would a newer Marantz CD6004 be worth upgrading to from a Marantz CD6000 ki signature

I have had the Marantz CD6000 ki signature for 12 years now and was wondering if the newer Marantz CD6004 would be a better source seeing how technology is moving on quickly. Any views? I have alwasy liked the 6000KI but always want more.

The moving on thing is just good marketing and I'm as much a sucker for it as any. The 6004 will be a bit more refined but I suspect you'd need to compare side-by-side to really notice.

see if you can get a 6004 on a home trial as for each person here who thinks it is worthwhile, another will say don't bother!

On a general point, the same money on a streamer or DAC might be better looking forwards unless you have a large cd library and have no wish to rip. Or don't have a pc!

I agree with np. I suspect you're in danger of spending money just to get a different sound rather than a sound which is clearly in a different league. I think you need to look further up the range to make it worth your while.
