I misread that, I thought you'd said he was back on the drugs.

I didn't mean you were a complete **** like him, I meant that you have similar ways with the English language.

I'm not going to be mean to you, KOTK, but I wouldn't be able to stop myself if you were Mr Brand.

This forum has now become tedious with some obnoxious posters.

No longer a nice place to be.

I remember John Duncan mentioning two or three years ago, that being a Moderator was an unpaid voluntary role.

If WHF (or should that be Future?) are still unwilling to pay for Moderators, then I expect that most of the Moderation nowadays is performed by Messrs Clough and Cox. I imagine that their days are already so busy with magazine activities, that they can only devote a small amount of time to active forum Moderation.

Whatever the case, all Moderators have to perform a delicate balancing act.

In a country based on the right to free speech, one mans free speech is another mans obnoxious - but everyone should remember that the right to free speech, does not mean the right to insult. This is analogous to the right to bear guns, not being the same as the right to shoot those they dislike - although this distinction still confuses some americans.

C'mon Mike, every forum needs moderation. Have you ever been to the Towers? I have on two occasions - and it's mooosive. Are you telling me they can't find staff that'll monitor what goes on throughout this forum?

Even the presence of staff would be a welcome token gesture.

This place has become farcical over recent times. The said poster is a constant irritant: It's hard to find a meaningful contribution, in amongst his festuring snipes and patronizing. he even admitted to gel he expects to 'banned'. What person would come onto a forum just to p*** people off? He knows what he's doing.

He's infected another hi-fi post. He clearly has no respect for anyone on here.

Hi,

I used to post often on here but I think the lack of moderation, whilst quite annoying at times has led to the detriment of it, so I no longer post very often. WHFI have clearly came to a decision that this forum is not a revenue generator and have stood back from moderating. It's went back to the wild west of mid- ninties chatrooms.

To me that's a stupid decision, WHFI missed a trick on a classifieds section through inaction. Look where AV Forurms and the like of Hi-Fi Wigwam are now.

The amount of abuse on here currently is unacceptabe, comes from people who seem to think they are golden members, and puts new users off from joining. Now every other thread seems to descend into disagrement and abuse. To all of the long term golden members, you know who you are, your role in keeping the forum alive is in no doubt. However your role in turining the forum from an open inclusive envirnonment into a dying entity is also in no doubt in my mind. All I see nowadays, is bickering, bullying and general abuse. I cant recall the last time i seen a welcome to the forum to a newbie poster from any of you. That used to be commonplace, everyone who was a first time poster( spam excluded) got a welcome note. No longer the case, you should hang your head in shame, you have wrecked it. Maybe through lack of moderation to keep you under control but you have destroyed it through your actions. Don't blame the lack of moderation on lack of self control.

When I joined 2 and a bit years ago I got a lot of welcomes from long term users. Also I have not once been the victim of abuse in that time. I don't come on this site all lot but when I do it's there is mostly a calming relaxing atmosphere. You are making mountains out of mole hills as It's norewhere near as bad as you make it out to be.

Think I have been on here for over six years and I remember things being a lot more friendly. Quote below is a perfect example. I'm not trying to have a go at that specific individual but comments like this would not have been tolerated.

"Do you not understand? Other than gel NO ONE LIKES YOU. Go away you odious individual."

Neither would be this...

"Talking wood? Ent maybe? or maybe would? Talking would raise the hackles of sensitive people? Talking would be a waste of time to a rock? A Ent would talk given a hobbit! Money talks Ents won't!...What wood say if it would talk?"

Moderation prevents this type of reaction as does self control. If someone is being an arse then you need someone to report it to. Fuelling the fire rather than using self control doesn't help the matter. It just fans the flames. Makes it an uncomfortable place to be, especially for a new user. Best way to deal with a troll is to ingnore a troll.

668 posts since 2008. This suggests you've never been a regular.

For people like me and many others who've spent years volunteering to help others, can we not have a pop when someone, who's only been on here since January, thinks he's Gods gift and fucks up every thread he goes on.

Agreed: This used to be a fun and fairly relaxed place to be. How things change.

Hi PP, I amended my last post a bit to reflect that. I was a long term lurker then a pretty frequent poster for a couple of years. Then I drifted away from Hi-Fi for a bit but have always kept an eye on here and posted when my limited knowledge was of any use.

That is out of order for PP to be saying that sort of stuff but he Kotq most of said something to wind PP up for him to come out with that. I been in a few heated debates on the site and everyones been nice to me.

You should know then I always try and help people in I have the knowledge.

He's upset so many people over recent times, also, by his own words, he' great at everything and a babe magnet. On a few of his posts he even says things like "follow the keeper..." as if he's some sort of God-like figure.

Perhaps it was a joke but jokes wear thin. And his patronizing of other users: "I respect my elders", he said Robinkidderminster, suggesting he and others are old and withered.

He's a 25 carot idiot.

Life's to short to be hating. If he winds you up that much PP my advice would be to ignore him. It's not worth getting upset about PP.
