Which Reciever?

Ok so I currently have two recievers now from a possibly stupid move on my part. I had an onkyo tx-sr308 which I got on ebay a while back for about £70 i think it was. Then recently I saw an ad on gumtree for an onkyo tx-sr606 with Elac cinema 1 speakers for £100 which I thought although i didnt need it was such a good deal I should get it, intending on selling the stuff on ebay afterwards. At the time I had thought the was upgrade to my 308 but now I understand it can only do 1080i and cant do 3D. So I'm not really sure which one to keep; is the video output difference really going to matter? I presume I won't be using a 3d tv for a while! (on a side note if anyone knows, are these Elac speakers any good?)

What's the rest of your system like? Which TV? Blu ray player? Sky HD?

Well I'm currently using Q acoustics 1010i speakers, not sure what the tv is as its my house mates and I currently do not own a tv yet; the tv is nothing special.I think its hd ready so probably 720p.

Oh and I normally use my laptop for films, i just download an HD copy online.

If your TV is 720p only, then your receiver's capability of 1080i is more than adequate. I haven't heard your speakers so cannot comment. I would have thought 606 will be superior to 308 sonically.
