ive only tried samsungs and panasonics so far , and for me the samsung glasses win hands down ..

they are more like a pair of sunglasses , they fitted me very well and were quite comfortable , i couldnt imagine wearing the pana glasses for very long , they kept slipping of my nose , and they let in too much light imo , and they are too heavy ..

i just hope panasonic , or whoever , bring out better glasses that work with the vt20 , at the moment the panas 3d glasses are the only thing stopping me buying a vt20 ..

any views ? anyone tried sonys or lgs 3d specs ?

Andrew Everard:Given that they're not interchangeable, it's something of a pointless question, even by your own high standards, max...
i would have thought that was quite obvious andrew , of course they are not interchangeable , but given the amount of people that state that having to wear ungainly glasses is putting them off 3dtvs , i would have thought the tv maker that supplies the most comfortable glasses would have an edge ? no ?

The problem is the quality of the other 3D sets does not even come close to what the Panasonic VT20 can offer, double images and ghosting is something i notice every time i view a samsung 3D set. Combined with the image going dark if you tilt your head is a total joke.

The only 3D Set id consider right now would be a VT20 regardless of the glasses, if not that then i simply would not bother.. We need to see how these newer LG 3d screens are when they eventually come into stock!ÿ

Good plan - choose your TV based on the glasses. Then when 3D turns out to be a flash in Japan (and Korea), repent at leisure...

lol, very good guys, i have tried all the glasses now (LG,SAMSUNG,PANASONIC,SONY) and i have found the sony glasses to be the best , followed closely by Samsung ,then LG,then panasonic.I think you have a very valid point Max , being that the consumer is spending 2 k plus on a TV for partly 3D purposes then it goes without saying that if the glasses are to uncomfortable for viewing a 2 hour film it does have a factor in the buying process.Panasonic is almost universally proven by the majority of reviews in press and on-line (other than whsv)!! to have the best 3D picture but they are,im sure, losing a lot of sales due to this!!!

couldnt agree more , i think 3d suits plasmas and vice versa , lcds already have a hard enough job with motion on 2d ...

it should be interesting to see how samsungs 3d plasmas compare to the vt20 , they are quite a bit cheaper , i doubt they will be as good though ..

ill be choosing my 3d tv on the basis of picture quality , motion , black levels , viewing angles , response time , natural looking pic/skin tones , shadow detail , price , and last but not least , glasses ...

so the vt20 it is then ..

btw , i think its doomed for failure too

bigboss:Look at it this way............if TVs this year have come so close to the Kuro, there should be a TV next year that may actually beat the Kuro hands down.

The same thing was being said last year
