When connecting a 4K ultra HD blu Ray player is it the same way as connecting 3D?

By this I mean connecting with 2 HDMI cables one to the amp and the other some place else? An older amp I am talking about not a 4k one, I still haven't fully managed to set one up probably with my speaker system yet.

Yes: main output direct to TV, sub (audio) output to a receiver without 4K passthrough.

Yep, all working I got my new TV and it's perfect!

I cancelled that one and picked up one from Currys today, the LG 55 eg960v.
