I just bought a pair of lightly used KEF LS 50 Meta speakers for $900, and I WOULD LIKE TO AVOID SPENDING another $450 for the S2 metal stands made by KEF to support the speakers. The LS 50 Metas have four bolt holes, 1 in each bottom corner to connect the speakers to the stands.

Does any other manufacturer make stands that will match up with these holes? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Joe in Florida

Welcome to the forum.
Cannot think of any that would match up but be aware that you don't necessarily have to bolt them to stands even if they do have holes there to do that.
Some would say it's better to isolate them from their stands.

I don’t know Florida but if your local social media sales groups or eBay offers have something suitable they are by far the thriftiest way to buy what you need.

A KEF dealer might have some tucked away and willing to discount too. Stands often get scuffed in a store, so can’t be sold as new.

LS50 don’t need to be bolted to anything, unless you have pets or children who can’t be trusted. They also have great dispersion so can tolerate slightly lower or taller stands than KEF’s own.

The cherry timber took 2 days to get (a 5 hour trip each way to the supplier!) and some AUD300.00. (My speakers are finished with cherry veneer...)
Then some 30 hours and a lot of equipment to machine/assemble. The spikes and cones I already had from an old pair of stands...
All worth it though...

You did a great job by the looks of them, but this highlights how challenging it would be to mass produce anything remotely close for an affordable price. Very satisfying for you, however!

I have some generic metal stands that I bought 20 years ago, they look okay and the build is fine.

In the UK you can also pick them up used for a song, not sure about in Americaland. I rest my Kef LS50 Metas on top. The plates are too small to drill for bolts to hold the speakers. It would not be too hard to make some plates, fix them to the stands and bolt them to the speakers. They could,be made from marine ply, or a nice solid wood such as oak. A jig saw could be used to cut them out, then sanded and oiled or varnished. Wood might be better for sound isolation. MDF is cheap, and even more isolating, plus it is easily sealed and painted.
