DandyCobalt are you still happy with the Inspire upgrade? My Planar is being picked up next week for a similar treatment

Oh yes. I haven't looked at another turntable since ;)

By the way, did you hear that Civil Wars have split up? Tour cancelled due to different ambitions, apparently. Pity, they were sounding good.

Not quite sure what is happening to Civil Wars, was aware of problems as had a ticket to their Brighton show which was one of those cancelled. Heard they had differing opinions but were working on new material, she has recently had a baby so maybe justy not going to tour anymore?

Glad you are still happy with the Inspire makeover, just waiting for Robert to confirm collection.

Spent a nice lazy Sunday, quality vinyl time having listened to

Miles Davis (Kind of Blue),

PIL (This is PIL),

the xx (Coexist), Django Django (

Django Django),

Bellowhead (Broadside),

Civil Wars (Barton Hollow),

Ian McCulloch (Pro Patria Mori),

Kylie (The Abbey Road Sessions)

and as I drained the last of the 12 year Balvenie Doublewood, Wild Beasts (Two Dancers).

A very enjoyable Sunday!

Have now packed up my Rega for it to be picked up tomorrow and be taken for its Inspire upgrade. Can't wait until I get it back and settle down to a nice long vinyl session.

Hi there.

Traffic - On the road. Joe Walsh - But Seriously Folks. Jeff Beck - Wired (with Jan Hammer). Billy Cobham & Alphonso Johnson - Alivemutherforya. Camel - A Live Record. Crosby Stills Nash & Young - 4 Way Street. Brand X - Livestock (U.S. - Passport Music 1977, with Phil Collins) 8)

This summer (2012) I wanted to play some old 70's LP's (JazzFunk/FolkRock) and those few 80's albums and 12 inches I already had.

(Did not have had a turntable since 1992 ( it was CD time!

I always liked the Duals by looks and reputation, so bought an 505-1 from a person (old technician) who does refurbish those vintage TT's and sell them for little money.
It's a very nice TT and works well, I like the 'manual' handling and not those 'automatic' fancy things.

It sounds good with the Ortofon cartridge.)

The Stones, The Beatles, The Coral, The Stooges, and The Who all mixed up into a classic and well sought after vinyl album.

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense

One thing which does not make sense is how to add album art to the thread though.

I copy image into flickr (www.flickr.com) , then cut/paste the html language for the image (click "share" in flickr, or html link (I think in the alternative www.photobucket.com), then click the HTML icon here in the WHF comment box, paste the html stuff that you've copied and click update.)

It's a bit of a pavlova but give it a try :)

By the way, if you ever get to see/hear the blu-ray of stop making sense, it's superb.

Takes me back to 1987, I bought this album at the Bristol HiFi show of that year, Steve Gibbons was the entertainment after the exibitors dinner on Saturday night. A great sound then and now, I am enjoying it with my new Northwest Audio re-tip. Its is a live recording at The Dublin Castle, Camden Town . . . great music . . . the volume is up!!!

Godspeed You! Black Emperor- "Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!"

Recommended by brother, and got 4/5 in Mojo this month...interesting! (Lots of !)

Is that new? I thought they'd more or less stopped recording and playing. Amazing live.
