Cat Stevens "Tea for the Tillerman" <analogue productions>

Neil Young "Harvest"

Nat King Cole " just one of those things" Analogue Productions 45rpm

I think my system is sounding the best it has ever done ( or it might be the Barolo effect) ;-)

I find there is not enough mention of the Barolo, or for that matter the Chateauneuf effect in HiFi magazines / forums these days.

They are, after all, guaranteed to improve any system unlike some very expensive so-called 'improvements' that are on the market now. :)

Pleasae can you post your thoughts on the 'Tea for the Tillerman' LP as I was compemplating getting it myself.

I love the "Tea for a Tillerman" AP production - it sounds superb.

Another mag that reviews audiophile vinyl couldn't give it 100% because they aren't allowed to, so gave it 95% for sound quality. Definitely worth while addition to the rack.

I have also tried to compare different wines to judge what differing impact they might have on audio quality.

I was scraped off the settee the next morning, and didn't drink for a month :)

Conclusion - Inconclusive results...repeat experiment.

It was the review in 'that other magazine' that brought the LP to my attention. I used to own the original but it appears to have disappeared into the ether. Haven't heard any Cat Stevens in a long while so might just fork out for it.

Sorry to heard about your inconclusive result / failed experiment. Might I suggest a repeat at least monthly being careful to plot intake versus sound quality improvement for each of the 'effects' in question.

It has got to be better than cable swapping / tube rolling.

After hearing it being repeated on BBC1, I dug out a 1971 Time/Life box set, The Swing Era, and am playing Sing, Sing, Sing, Parts 1 & 2, by Benny Goodman.

Third time lucky for the new remastered version of Sgt. Pepper. I've had bad luck with the first two copies.

Theoretically, are these vinyl versions identical to the 2009 CD version, except they're on vinyl?

Anyway, back to the playback, I really enjoyed Pepper and Abbey Road last night. They sound good.

My wife has hinted there will be a few more LPs under the tree too. Cool. Well, the hints and the carefully drawn up list might just pay off this year.

This afternoon, got to be Phil Spector's Christmas Album.

Sounds just like it did when I bought it all those years ago.

Darlene Love's voice is just fantastic with all those drums and orchestration making a great sound.

Pity it was done in the days of Mono, but still a great sound on vinyl.

Remember the Beatles & Phil Spector's motto "Back to Mono"!!!!!!
