The Best of The Art of Noise

nice SQ on mine

top production from Trevor Horn

The Cult - Love

The Cult - Electric

first band I saw that wasn't in the back of a pub. Great days, went to London with a mate, saw the band in Hammersmith Apollo then stayed at his sisters squat in Elephant & Castle, Camden Market the next day buy bootleg tapes.

The Railway Stories Volume 4 - Narrated By Johnny Morris

Listening to this with my 6 year old son as a bed time story.

A bargain bin treasure pressed before I was born.....

Full of pops & Crackles but we love it!

Last night we listened to some "classics":

Automatic For The People - REM

The Queen Is Dead - The Smiths

Imperial Bedroom - Elvis Costello

Today. Different kind of modern classics:

Zen Arcade - Husker Du

A Ghost Is Born - Wilco

Them Or Us - Zappa

Some terrific British 70's R'n B in a Dr.Feelgood/9 Below Zero style..

Neil Young - Live Rust

Television - Marquee Moon

The Clash - Give 'Em Enough Rope

I have the Television and Clash albums, but I'd love Live Rust, just trying to find it at the right price.

Sorry Steve, but you'll be back and playing some sooner than you think, and in the mean time, get Hats by Blue Nile, I think you'd love it.

BBB, Damn I seen Blue Nile in the 50p section at Langley Mill Records

Really? You obviously don't know them then.

Renowned for their prefectionism, signed to Linn Records, melancholic, 80s, with more than a hint of Peter Gabriel in the vocals.

I'm guessing that 50p record must have been hammered, otherwise I'd have thought it would go for much more.

Pale Saints - In Ribbons

Sounds so compressed compared to the Blue Nile, but I do really rate this album.

One of my more valuable records, which I haven't played for quite some time.

Found a copy on Discogs for £10 rather than the £30 om eBay. Is in good nick, cover is 'used' but good for its age. It is a really good album.

Playing some good stuff today BBB, have Pale Saints on cd, In Ribbons, The Comforts of Madness and Flesh Balloon ep (love that one).

Have been thinking about Hats as have it on cd and is a great album, will keep a look out for it on vinyl which means I will end up buying it new as Resident Records have it in stock and unfortunately there a quite a few I tell myself I will only get if good 2nd hand price but then end up buying new via the web during whiskey hour (from 9pm on Sunday having been spinning vinyl most of the day).

The Clash - London Calling

Firstly play of this. Audio, Video, Disco by Justice. Wasn't expecting much from an 'electronic' LP but it is incredible. Ridiculously big soundstage and pounding bass. It will be going on loud every time I get the house to myself.

1st disc of The Clash - Sandinista!

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew

finishing off tonight with the gorgeous voice of Margo Timmins on

Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session album

and Blue Moon Revisited (Song for Elvis) ep,

with the Nag in full flow and the Era Gold V bedding in it is better than I have ever heard and I have listened to the album a lot on tape, vinyl and cd over the last 25 years, one of my fave bands and albums.

I'm a Cowboy Junkies fan too. ;The Caution Horses' is my favourite but 'Trinity Sessions' is great.

The Blue Nile's 'Hats' is lovely. Great record.

Today, I've been watching Ronnie O'Sullivan, the poet of the green baize, in the snooker final so not much listening:

Dexter Gordon-One Flight Up.

The Rolling Stones-Sucking In The 70's. Better than most of their mid-late 70's records.

The Church-priest=aura. Utterly brilliant. Great songs and jangly guitars.

An original copy that the wife picked up for me for Christmas.

Still one of the best albums of all time, and this particular example, plays like its new

Them Or Us - Zappa

Tinseltown Rebellion - Zappa

Slates - The Fall
