I'm sure your mate will take you to Jumbo, Crash and Relics. The first two sell new vinyl, the latter is second hand stuff, slightly over-priced but some gems in there. Particularly downstairs. There's plenty of decent charity shops too.

The excellent record fair at the Corn Exchange is a weekend only deal, of course.

I'm sure you'll come across some good stuff somewhere.

Can you remind me of the name of the other Hovercraft LP. Plus any best suggestion for a place of purchase.

Thanks.

Thanks Charlie. I'm sure he'll know them, but it's always good to have the names to hand.

I think you have Experiement Below don't you, so Akathisia is the other album.

I've been getting stuff from Discogs and Music Stack, though not always with great results. I won't go below EX+ anymore, and I'd probably stick with a UK seller if possible, as duff records from abroad make it pointless financially to return the records for refunds (I have a spare copy of Akathisia for this reason).

Yes BBB, it's Experiment Below that I have. Played it at full blast and full-tilt this very afternoon, taking advantage of my wife and children going out Christmas shopping.

I'll be seeking out Akathisia shortly. In fact, I'll be asking the Crash and Jumbo guys when I get round to it.

As previously mentioned, enjoy your trip up North, and all who sail in her.

The Wytches - Robe for Juda (7")

The Sugarcubes - Life's Too Good

New Order - Power Corruption and Lies

The Best of The Art of Noise

The Sundays - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic

Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session

Ernie Rabbituft - Santa S*at On My Guitar.

Well if Garden Sounds can make one up, surely I'm allowed. :shifty:

Belly - King

Arrived yesterday from eBay, also recently acquired King. Have both on cd and always loved them. Discussion on another non hifi forum made me think of getting them on vinyl. They are both 90s originals but sounding great.

Been buying quite a bit of 2nd hand vinyl recently from Vinyl Tap in Huddersfield, and Vinyl Exchange in Manchester. In the last couple of days we've been listening to:

Kate Bush - The Dreaming

Marillion - Script For A Jester's Tear

Rick Wakeman - Criminal Record

Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel (1980)

Matthews Southern Comfort - Matthews Southern Comfort

Supertramp - Crisis, What Crisis?!

All in great condition (I check fastidiously before buying and won't accept anything less than a tightly judged very god), and all sound superb. In particular I've got used to hearing the truly dreadful CD versions of 'The Dreaming' and 'Script....', so hearing them on vinyl is musical bliss.

The Myths And Legends Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The Round Table - Rick Wakeman

I grew up listening to this album and I still love it.

I bought it second hand from Revolver Records on The Triangle in Bristol in 1976. I think it's pretentious rubbish.
