I got some bargains from the local record store, today. All of the following for £10.

Steely Dan - Greatest Hits. I bought this because a few of you have recommended it.

Sting - Bring on the Night. Live album.

Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians - Shooting Rubber Bands at the Stars

Tina Turner - Simply the Best.

Thank you. My favourite line of all time from a brilliant song which sums up the time.

I would guess most people on here under 25 years old would not know where Cumberland was before the politicians scrapped it, although I was reading the other day that the locals in Westmoreland were re-erecting boundary signs. Good for them I say.

Interestingly although Cumberland got scrapped they still have a Minor County cricket team playing in the Minor Counties league.

Happy Christmas all miners and ex miners.
Currently playing The Eagles Hotel California off 180gr vinyl.

Time for a re-assessment then methinks. I'll give it a spin on Spotify later, see what i reckon now.

And what do you think DIB?

Fair enough. But to me it's far more interesting than the first album, and more complete as an album.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of his, but because the general public hated it, I thought it must be worth listening to...and I liked it

Sounds like some other well known American act from the 80's?

Definitely, but at least the little feller's got a bit of cash around the house to help him get by.

"Fish" killed TTD's career, and I quite like it.

Maybe that says more about me than the music industry.

Looking at the packaging on the vinyl, some serious money was spent on it, and it sold pathetically.

One day, my vinyl copy will be worth a bomb...

Stop laughing!

Today's been a good day for vinyl. Mr Postie delivered 'BadMotorFinger', this morning and came back about an hour ago with:

A few of you recommended this to me when I first got my TT. You weren't wrong, it's fantastic. I found the bass a little overpowering on the CD version, but they've taken it down a notch on the vinyl.

Another bargain here: £9.99 from Amazon.

It's the below album collection, newly remastered and on 180g vinyl - and currently being played, in order, on my deck

Best live album?

Surely that's "Hanx" by Stiff Little Fingers OR The Who "Live At Leeds"

But surely a bad double album is even worse than a bad single album, as it's being bad for twice as long.

Therefore a great single album will always beat a bad double album.

As you know, I was just jesting.

Don't actually know the album, just the obvious track I've heard on the radio, so I don't have an opinion on it.
