What makes a classic?

Something that performs consistently well and lasts and lasts. My B&W MM-1 PC speakers, for example. And going by reviews, maybe the Marantz Model M1 too, as The Audiophile Man has just done (Paul Rigby).

No offense to you, but neither the above nor your PC speakers fall into that category nor will they in a year or a hundred.

Original Naim Nait xs....what a cracking amplifier....and you can bag one for around 500 quid these days, bargain, just make sure it's had a recent service by Naim.

Quad FM4 has been a classic to me.
Has needed 1 or 2 repairs - but the fact that it can be repaired is why it's done 41 years so far.

And my Thorens 160S might be regarded as semi-classic.
