what cd player to use?

hi all

i have the monitor audio asb2 soundbar and bk monolith plus sub which is a great match

but i need a cd player( high end ) that would be a match made in heaven i want the very best sound quality for a budget up to £1000

i wan it to do cd/sacd/mp3 thanks?

For SACD I would consider the Marantz 8005 its only £600 now down from £900. Or how about the Oppo 105 BD (Blu Ray) player. For cinema system the Blu Ray player is the best option.

Another option for you to think over, I'm sure someone will come along to say that you don't need to spend this amount on a cd/sacd/blu-ray player but as it's your choice (and money) I say go for it.

I'm sorry but the budget of CD player equals the cost of your sound system. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. CD player is a digital transport. Even if you were to believe there are differences between CD players, your sound system isn't good enough to appreciate the difference. Being a soundbar, even stereo separation will be lacking. Get a budget CD player like Marantz CD6005, or better still, use your existing blu ray player.
