.. I've started listening to this new band ( new to me anyway, I am aware that they've been around for 25 years ) and after listening to quite a bit on Spotify I think I may be buying some of their albums soon.

Furnaces by Ed Harcourt. His new album, produced by Flood and it is superb...

very different from his previous album, Back into the Woods, enjoyable nevertheless.

If you like Kite, try their debut EP, the North Farm Sessions. Saw them live a few years back, playing their EP songs. They were truly delightful and I wanted so much to like their follow-up album, but TBH was a little disappointed after such a strong EP. Thanks for mentioning them though as I'm reminded to play their EP again, which hasn't seen the light of day in a while.

Haydn: The Seasons: Leipziger Kammerorchester. Naxos 2 Disc CD.

Picked up from a charity shop today still in its wrapper for 49p.

The playing, singing, production and SQ is superb.

Hi Leeps

Will do, thanks... have to say the Kite CD isn't the best produced album I've ever heard., but their vocals are so nice.

Jon Mitchell : Blue

On cd. I've had this album yrs and never really got it... I do today

When you 'get it', you realise it's one of the most beautiful albums ever recorded.

Did you know 'Little Green' was about her daughter (which I read somewhere that she'd had to give up for adoption - and was reunited with later in life).

Stupid me, I've just realised he meant Joni Mitchell!... didn't know that about Little Green... love Joni, just bought For the Roses, Clouds and Ladies of the Canyon.

Yes I knew, explains a lot about the air of melancholy and loss which pervades this album in particular

Whiplash (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Urgent, punchy, engaging jazz. Beautifully produced too.
