A good introduction to Paul Brady this one.

.

Only just discovered that the great Jackie Leven has passed away this week. A great character, who released tons of stuff over a 40 year career, always interesting, never dull, and fabulous live. I'll miss him greatly.

I'm playing this 1994 album, my favourite.

A video of Eva Cassidy performing "Autumn Leaves".

Beautiful.

Beautiful indeed.

For personal reasons this is the song of hers I find the hardest to listen too.

Matt Monro - `These Years`/`The Late,Late Show` 2 on 1 cd. The Singer`s Singer! If you get the chance have a listen to the superb arrangement of `Don`t Sleep In The Subway`. I`ve just looked and it`s on Spotify.

Arena - `Immortal` CD Not my favourite Arena album but it certainly has it`s moments. Looking forward to their new album released in a week or two.

God only knows, but I'm trying like mad to actually enjoy this, but it's just leaving me cold. I gather I must be in the minority on these and other boards, but I'm just not getting it I'm afraid.

"Heroes & Villains", "Good Vibrations" - bona fide classics. The rest of it, I don't think so.

Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) - Keep It Hid

Great music - When The Night Comes is especially mighty.

And an excellent recording: fine separation and imaging; clear and natural vocals; powerfull low-end bass - and no compression.

There was a Dan Auerbach track on a Mojo magazine feebie a while ago, "Street Walkin'" which I thought at the time was pretty good. I must investigate further.

Meanwhile, headphones on this morning and getting in some fantastic huge progtastic riffs...

"Octopus" by Manchester band Amplifier.

Another interesting artist that I first heard on Radio Paradise. This time, a Swiss double bass player who produces some quite hypnotic instrumental sounds.

The best band youve never heard of

Don't be so sure, there's quite a few PT fans ( plus Blackfield, No-Man, Steven Wilson solo etc.) on these boards.

Had a very pleasant afternoon yesterday listening/watching this one..

And this morning, whilst the rest of the household sleeps and I can't, on with the headphones..
