Massive Attack-Heligoland

Ditto.

Now loving it to bits.

Seeing 'em at Hammersmith on Thurs - can't wait!

The Maccabees - Colour it in.

Saw these supporting Razorlight at Eden project last summer and been meaning to buy their albums ever since. Recently bought this one with 5 bonus tracks on, and all tracks are superb! very rare these days I think.

Looking forward to getting their second album now, just hoping its as good as this one!

3 more recent Strawbs albums. 'Blue Angel', from 2003, is from the early stages of the return of the electric band and features a large selection of personnel from throughout the years and several guest artists. It is a solid album with some really good moments but it suffers from some pretty ropey production.

'The Broken Hearted Bride' comes from 2008 and is beautifully recorded and performed entirely by the classic 'Hero & Heroine' line-up of the band. A superb set of songs and my favourite of all the recent Strawbs albums.

'Dancing To The Devil's Beat' is the 40th Anniversary album from 2009. When I first heard it I didn't take to it and thought the recorded sound was a step backwards again. However, giving it another chance on my current set-up, I am really enjoying it. I still prefer 'The Broken Hearted Bride', but 'Dancing...' is actually rather good. Its the 'Hero & Heroine' line-up again but with Oliver Wakeman on keyboards.

...and the Strawbs-fest continues...

'Ghosts' is a superb album from start to finish and one of the band's true classics IMO. The remastered sound is excellent too.

'Deadlines' is a very under-rated album, largely because it never got much of a push in the UK. The CD is an import and I remember it took alot of effort to find it. More of a rock album and, whilst not their best work, it still holds up very well.

Four Tet - There Is Love In You

Listened to it a few times now, and it sounds more streamlined and elegant every time. I may have to gush at length about it in the April issue's Playlist.
